Rockport Technologies Taurus : Center Speaker
Rockport Technologies introduces the Taurus center channel loudspeaker, designed as an ideal addition to any high-end, integrated audio/video system featuring Rockport loudspeakers. The Taurus offers versatility, available either as a stand-mounted center channel or with a low plinth mount for in-cabinet installations. Its design includes precision rake angle adjustment, enhancing vertical radiation for varied mounting heights, listening heights, and distances. The Taurus is also suited for placement directly against the wall, ensuring seamless integration into the system.
The Taurus features two newly developed 7-inch midbass drivers from Rockport, delivering bass and lower midrange registers. These drivers incorporate Rockport’s signature design elements: robust cast aluminum frames, oversized spiders, vented titanium voice coil formers, and a carbon fiber sandwich composite cone with variable section thickness. The midrange in the Taurus is managed by Rockport’s 6-inch carbon fiber sandwich composite cone midrange unit, while high frequencies are handled by a custom, waveguide-mounted beryllium dome tweeter.
